The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.

This year's Student Council is made up of  Mantachie High School Students. They are chosen to be a member of Student Council based on their GPA, attitude, willingness to work, and outgoing personalities. Student Council is responsible for all high school and junior high student elections, all Homecoming festivities, and the Tach Stash. They also help in the high school office and with other school programs, such as the Veterans Program, Red Ribbon Week Festivities and Classroom Door Decorating Contest for Red Ribbon Week.
